Videos, Texts and Translations of the Moment Hit!
This is the first album recorded in the studio after almost a decade for the American artist and performer. The project transforms the project into pure music and musical theater staged by Anderson in recent years, centered on the theme of American identity and supported by several guests, by Kieran Hebden and John Zorn, who have contributed to its success. It is not the first time, moreover, that the singer tries his hand at drama to the issues involved: one was in 1982 his famous Big Science. Homeland is born in his spare time and deaths of Anderson's theater tour since 2007, and gradually constitutes itself as a compendium of music from the eclectic artist made in the last thirty years. The recipe consists of Homeland electronic minimalism, vocal performances hour recited hour, filtered voices that counterbalance the warmer sound of violins and keyboards. The issues are not simple and the tones are not light: it is clear from the first notes of Transient Life, the opening track which appears on the borders funeral elegy. This is followed by reflections, often dark and apocalyptic, on all the major ills of modern society, analyzed with a clear eye and witty lyrics: American foreign policy, torture, national and global economic crises, personal freedom, freedom of worship The health care system. There is no question that does not pass under the unforgiving microscope of Anderson, without that attention to the musical texture is below: voice and accompaniment combine in perfect harmony and enrich each other in a continuous dynamic exchange. The result is a pop record, but also a literary high that in addition to delight the ear will make people think.
